Originally designed as a recreation of the pickups used in the 1959 Gibson Les Paul Standard, the Pearly Gates still have the vintage tone, but slightly warmer and hotter than the original. For heavier rock sounds, Seymour Duncan suggest a Pearly Gates humbucker in the neck position, and an SH-11 Custom Custom in the bridge, as well as using maple and ebony necks.It’s also available with a Nickel or gold-plated cover.
